Hello,

I have done some research and found they typical, " I have narrowed it down to:

SVS pb10nsd 429.00
SVS pb12nsd 599.00
Outlaw LMF EX 519.00
Outlaw LFM Plus 439.00
Outlaw LFM Compact 319.00
HSU VTF-1 449.00

I have a room size of 12x16 with 10 ceilings.

Trying to keep budget down around 500

Outlaw seems to have the better pricing, but SVS gets lots of love here.

HSU has god prices as well, but not as much mention as SVS or Outlaw.

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

Ok, let's look at this logically. You put Hsu VTF-1 on the list. You could have put the STF-2, which is cheaper and the same as the VTF-1, except it's not variable tuning. Why choose the VTF-1? If it's for the special finishes, that will drop all other subs off your list. Maybe you chose it for the higher output (sacrifice extension)? If so, that might drop out the LFM-1 Compact.

You didn't mention eD's A2-300, which might be included. It's big, but the PB12-NSD is bigger.

If all these are really on your list, and you really do want to come close to $500 (and $319 is not that interesting), then then LFM-1 EX is the one I'd grab on the sale. The PB12-NSD is not really in the same price range, plus there's the shipping charge.

Do you like a LOT of bass? From what I heard today with my LFM-1 Compact, any of these is enough for your size room. But I also don't like things falling off the wall when I watch a movie. ;)

I think your list is really several, because these subs are not alike. I kind of grouped them below (and I have not heard most of these; just going by all the info others have written).

PB12-NSD
LFM1-EX

A2-300

PB10
LFM1-Plus

LFM-1 Compact
VTF-1 (and STF-2)

I think you need to narrow it down more.

I would agree the list is a little long. I will eliminate the higher priced ones which are pushing my budget.

Shorter List:

SVS pb10nsd 429.00
Outlaw LFM Compact 319.00
HSU VTF-1 449.00
HSU STF-2 299.00 Too Small?
Outlaw LFM Plus 439.00 Too Big?

I noticed that the SVS PB10 is the only one not downfiring, difference?

Bump.

I do not want to miss the sale on the LMF-1 Plus if that is the way I should go. Just concerned about it being too much for a room(12x16). Maybe the LMF-1 Compact is the way to go or the HSU STF-2?

Please help, this is my first buy of a sub!

Thanks

PC12 NSD at $550.

No such thing as too much.
I just went down this road.
Started at $500.

Just moved the Trinity upstairs to the HT two weeks ago.

That puts me at 600, which is 100-150 above plan.

How does the OutlawLFM1 EX at 519(shipped) compare to the PC12 NSD?

You asked this question in a different thread yesterday, and I answered it.

You have three threads open, asking the same questions about the sub.

There is no need for multiple threads on the same topic

Sorry; no help here as I have heard neither.
Which is why I ended up with the Trinity. I got to test drive it.
You'll have to go off specs or craigsubs blind test auditions.
PS; call SVS and tell them your predicament. They may have a B stock for less.

Right now SVS has five PC12-NSD "B" stock units at $519 each.
