Hi, ive been posting on several forums for someone to help with my tv's picture settings and ive had no luck..

Ok well Im usually playing my ps3 on it and watching movies on blu-ray.

So what I wanted to know was, how is your picture settings set? cause when im watching blu-ray movies I see alot of motion blur and I had read in an article that this set does NOT suffer from motion blur.

So how do I fix this??

also how would you know when its time to replace the lamp?

Hi eaglesfan20. Welcome to the AVS forum.

Sorry about your luck on other forums, but people are sometimes reluctant to respond to new threads about subjects that are covered elsewhere. Human nature, I guess. While waiting for someone to answer your post, you might want to peruse the A3000 settings & tweaks thread (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=904460) and the A3000 owners' thread. (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=889226) Chances are, the answers to your questions are there. They're pretty long threads, but the search feature might help narrow it down for you.

Hope this helps.

Turn any picture enhancer off especially Noise Reduction and if that doesn't help turn on 120Hz interpolation. It could be also optical block or video processor board.

I believe he is referring to Motion Enhancer. If all of the posts are too daunting, peruse some of the professional reviews for this display. Will give you some excellent information and settings. Easy place to check these out is ecoustics.com. Simply enter the model number and go from there.

After a certain number of hours, the display will notify that the bulb needs replacing. However, bulbs do burn out prior. Especially if vivid preset is used or never calibrated. If the picture has become noticeably darker, might be time. You can also check out the self diagnostic to see the number of hours on your bulb. I cannot remember the sequence, but, it is easily found on the first pages of the main threads.

I have the 60A3000 and I gave up trying to find a decent setting that eliminates or reduces motion blurring & judder. I thought that since this model is 120Hz was supposed to reduce motion blur problems but to me they have never been more apparant.

My previous set was an A2000 and I never noticed a problem, I will admit though that maybe I just wasn't looking for it.

I only have MN on. CM & ME are both off, they introduce as many problems as they cure. YMMV.

Mode 1 for MN?

Btw its set on vivid, i dont know if thats a bad thing but it is the factory default im assuming since the other HDMI inputs are set the same way

The darker mode, I think it is 1. Now that I think about it, maybe I'll turn that off tonight to see how it looks.

Vivid is not usually a good starting point to get an accurate picture. Custom mode is better. That said, Vivid would have no impact motion blurring.

For calibration to get an accurate picture, get an AVIA disc. It walks you through a lot of good detail of how to properly calibrate your TV. There is a Blu-Ray version our there.

i rented Wall-E on blu-ray cause somebody told me it has a calibrate feature, and still no help...it only helps adjust brightness and contrast levels thats all.

do you have ps3 or blu-ray player also ?

Calibrating won't help the motion blurring.

It will give a better picture though. I haven't seen the calibration on Wall-E but calibrating will get you set up for:

Brightness
Contrast
Sharpness (you probably want it around 35)
Color
Hue

I turned MN off last night, I think it may help with the blurring a bit by leaving it on.

As far as I know, the only settings that will affect the blurring are Motion Enhancement, Motion Naturalizer and Cinemotion. (ME, MN & CM). Search the tweaks forum for those abbreviations and you'll get the ideas of what they intend to do, and people's opinions of the results.

Try ME on High and CM on Auto1 to get a real idea of what the full impact could be.

yeah ive had all that turned on before.. the last blu-ray movie i watched was Rambo and wow all i saw was a lot of blur smeared across the screen, but its weird when there's slow movement, it looks really good imo..is that what high def is sopposed to look like??
