As I stated in a earlier post my cablevision SA 8300hd dvr kept rebooting daily, or every other day basically at night whether box is on or off. The replacement dvr (made 12/08) has same problem. What is going on, is it my signal or am I getting bad 8300hds or cable spikes. I replaced spliters and cable with no effect.

Note
1) One line into apt and two 4250 cable boxes on 3rd split, cable modem on 1st never reboot. It is only the dvr on 2nd split that reboots constantly

2) dvr diagnostics--signal strength +2 to -2 db and 1 lost cluster from these random reboots. Do a hard reboot fixes 1 lost cluster

3)service comming satdurday--any suggestions If this keeps up will go fios

Your signal levels are very good.
Signal quality is another thing do you see readings for S/N ratio, should be in upper 30's range.
It seems like you have another STB issue, if no satisfaction go to FIOS!!
I wish it was in my area.

The current quam S/Nn and 2ND quam ratio range from 36 to 37
Just a few hd stations run from 34 to 35, but the majority of stations run from 36 to 38. The current FDC S/N ratio is 0. I have no bad blocks but the diagnostics show 1 lost cluster which a hard boot cant seem to remove anymore. Will that be a problem . I also noticed the reboot seems to happen more on weekends

When the tech comes out have him check the signal , could be ripple. You just might have another bad dvr. There is a DVR 8300hdc try swapping out for that DVR if available.
