So this is my scenario: I have an LCD monitor with a VGA and DVI input. VGA is taken, and I use the DVI for my PC. Now, I know a STB will work with the monitor, so its just a matter of switching the input. This was my plan: Convert the outgoing DVI from my to HDMI, going into an HDMI switcher, and then having the output of the switch convert back to DVI. Obviously the STB will go straight into the switch. This seems like it'd work to me, but I don't know enough to say I couldn't have overlooked anything. Switcher is a Kingwin KW-HDMI401A (I'd link to it, but I can't post URLs yet. It's on Newegg.) Thanks.

If you have DVI on the PC,STB and monitor why don't you get a DVI switch?

I found the HDMI switcher for $40, can't find a DVI one for cheaper.
