Finally got around to taking a few pics of my two setups over Xmas, and happy enough to show them to the world! In the Theatre, due to the fact that my HD media is expanding fast, I will most likely find storage outside of the room itself for the movies. I do prefer a clutter-free look. Anyway enough talk, here's the systems - I'll start with the Theatre first:-

Dont think Philips make the TSU7000/7500 anymore, so you should find them on EBay very reasonable.

awesome set up, do you normally keep the remote in the kitchen? :P

I think that has to be the cleanest and most pro looking set up I have seen.
Are you an interior designer by chance?

Thanks mate! Wish I was, I merely work in the AV industry! The missus chose the colour scheme in the Living Room, everything else was me, and the Theatre was always off-limits to her during its renovation! But she does like the results, and despite claiming she's anti-tech, I know she likes to show off the rooms when her girlfriends come over!

The remote does spend a little bit of time in the kitchen area, as Im the one who does the washing up in my house!

I love it!
Still need to clock up a 100 hours or so before I can calibrate it properly though.

hey chief, have to say yours is truly one of the most inspiring setups i've come across in the forums.

This week I finally added my Philips RFX6000 RF Extender. This would free me up from having to point at my IR-RF blaster situated under the TV in the Living Room, and essentially allow me to control any device in the Home Theatre, from anywhere in the house. So first (before ripping out my previous IR solution) I tested the unit just by sitting it on the couch facing the HT equipment. Adjust the settings on the Pronto configuration, and presto, worked perfectly. So I remove all the IR gear and install the RFX6000 behind the cabinet, utilising the IR emitters that came with it. Lo and behold, it DIDNT work. Move it a few inches - kinda works. The manual does state they can be prone to interference from power cables etc etc so I can only deduce it was interference.
So after an hour of banging my head and wondering where to put the extender so it would work, but wouldnt be seen, I realised that I had installed a 25mm conduit in the back wall behind the couch during the build. So I settled on the RF extender hidden under the couch effectively blasting the IR on the equipment face on. So no cables visible and works perfectly.

Well its been a while since I updated/added anything to these systems, but the time has come!!
I have a new Cyrus 6XP stereo amp coming this week to replace the Cambridge 740A. I also have a new TV cabinet for the Living Room coming too (same as the Theatre Room but in a darker Walnut finish, as the soon-to-be-ex-missus is getting the existing one, and the TV!!)
So in the meantime, here is a few pics of my new Grado SR80i headphones:-

very nice indeed. I really like the way the light plays in that living room spot (like an alcove almost?). WHat is the color in the theater room?

Well in the last month Ive had some big changes to the Living Room system. First the Cyrus amp, then the Grado headphones, then a new AV cabinet for the Living Room, and now, on an impulse, a Pioneer 50" C509 Kuro Plasma (great price!). I was in the market for a new TV as the soon-to-be-ex missus was taking the Loewe. Anyhoo, was at a product launch last week and noticed the brand in question was using Kuro plasmas as their displays of choice. Seeing them in action one more time just validated for me how good these TVs were. As luck would have it, the next day I stumbled across a link to an offshoot of Pioneer Australia's website selling 3 of these units at a great price, so I nabbed one. More than I really was going to spend, but seeing as the missus will be gone soon, who could stop me!
So it arrived today....

Proper pics including the Cyrus and the new cabinet will be uploaded on Sunday.

I love both your setups. A quick question: where did you get the cool TV console's that you have your equipment in. i have not been able to find anything like it. Do you know the brands?

Gday kw3rd, thanks for your kind comments.

The two current cabinets I use are now the same model, but just a variation of the colour. All I can tell you is they were brought into Australia via a local distributor here in Perth. The distributor's website is:-

Australia? That figures. Every time I run across AV video furniture that I love its either in Australia or Northern Europe! As far as I can tell nothing like that exists over here in the states. I've been shopping for months!

Anyway thanks for your quick reply.

Well the New Year has, and will continue to, see some changes to my Stereo setup.

Gone are the 3 blue couches in favour of one, large lounge unit with a big long chaise. Added IKEA EXPEDIT cabinets along the right side wall. Re-orientated the coffee table to suit the lounge setup.

Most importantly to the equipment changes.
I have replaced the hardly run-in Cyrus 6XP with a Cyrus Pre XPd pre-amp and matching 8 Power. I am adding a second 8 Power which I should have next week. Will have a play with the setup configured for both bi-amping or mono-blocs, and see which one I prefer. For now here is the new pairing, ready to be installed:-

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w248/Hydrology/Living%20Room/DSC_1303.jpg

And down the track I plan on adding the matching CD8SE CD player, and a PSX-R unit for each unit (4 in total). Running out of room so the HTPC had to be dropped from the Living Room system!

Finally, Ive ordered these speakers from Swedish manufacturer XTZ:-

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w248/Hydrology/Living%20Room/W9926on9917sub.jpg

I should have the bookshelf part this week, but the bass modules are still some weeks away.
