I have a Toshiba 32HL95 TV with TVGOS.

The TVGOS has been working fine for as long as I've had the set.

I live in the South End of Boston (02116) and have Comcast basic cable. The TVGOS listings disappeared about 2 days ago (2009/02/08) and haven't come back yet despite trying various reset sequences for the TV and the TVGOS.

I'm interested in how other people on Boston Comcast are doing? Do you still have listings? Did yours disappear as well?

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
ddartmouth

I have a Sony and my TVGOS just went black on 03/08/09. I called Comcast and was informed that they have moved the data feed to a channel which will require a converter box and digital package. @ssh0l3s. Isn't this supposed to be free data?

They're mixed up. They must think you mean their "TV Guide" channel.

TVGOS data is free when you receive it over the air.

In Acton here and just appear to have lost TVGOS.

I have a Toshiba RD-SX34 and the TVGOS display show "No data for screen". All the channel listings (which takes an incredibly long time to organize!) are gone.

I think this has happened before and am hoping it will come back, but with the upcoming end of analog OTA I was expecting it will go away forever sometime soon. On the other hand, according to Macrovision (who I understand now owns TVGOS) they say TVGOS will still be supported after the digital transition for Comcast in my zip code area (see here (http://www.macrovision.com/dtv/10061.htm) )

Anyone else recently having similar problems with TVGOS?

Still no TVGOS here in Acton :(. Anyone having the same problem or insight into what happened?

Per Macrovision (here) (http://digitaltransition.macrovision.com/) ,they say Comcast that that serves my area still should support TVGOS after analog ends. It's not 100% clear to me whether this this means devices that depend on TVGOS analog will still work but my impresssion was that that is what it means.

Anyone using Comcast in the Boston here still have TVGOS working?

Thought I'd go ahead and ask Comcast itself what's up. I entered the following email to them on their website help screen here. (https://www.comcast.com/Corporate/Customers/HelpSupport.html). Here's hoping I get some kind of meaningful response (e.g other than we have a Comcast guide please upgrade to our $$$Digital tier!!)....

Hello Comcast,
I am a cable customer and recieve analog cable in Acton MA. My TV has builtin GUIDE functionality known as TV Guide On Screen or "TVGOS". *** Please note that I AM NOT REFERRING to Comcast's Guide!!!! *****

This functionality is dependent on data transmitted via the analog signal. Up until recently (about 2 weeks ago) this had been working with my Comcast cable connection.

Per Macrovision (TVGOS owner), TVGOS will still be supported by Comcast in my area after the digital transmission. See link http://www.macrovision.com/dtv/10061.htm and enter Acton zip code "01720".

As Macrovision/TVGOS claims, Can you confirm that Comcast is still supportting the TVGOS feed to analog customers? If so, do you know the current TVGOS host channel? This was WGBH Channel 2 but may have changed, causing the problems I am seeing now.

Any/All info you can give me regarding Comcast and TVGOS support/functionality is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Steve

Well the response from Comcast was quick enough but not a lot (or any) real useful info....

Well it is useful information; just not what you wanted them to say.

Exactly.

It is a service that piggy backs on an OTA provider, not Comcast's issue.
