Hi, new to the forum and I got a question.

I'm getting a Motorola BDA-SA1 amplifier to boost my low TWC signal.
The amp comes with an ac adapter connected via coaxial cable. Can I make a custom cable (~20 feet) so I can reach the nearest outlet? The one it comes with only reaches 6 feet. Do you all forsee any problems/hazards? The amp provides 12VDC at 200ma.

Thanks.

Yes you can the only possible issue would be the voltage drop acrosss the cable!!

I installed a drop amp and powered it remotely over ~60' of RG6 with no problem.

DSS dish LNB's are powered by DC over the coax.

There should be no problems except for excessively long runs.

Thanks for the replys. I'm greatly encouraged.
Can't wait to get my amp so I can get things going.
