Hey guys another one of those what sub threads.... I currently have a Klipsch RPW-10 which was fine with my fronts which were klipsch rf-10's (puny) but now I have upgraded to Klipsch Rf-62 mains with an Rc-52 center and moved my rf-10's to the rear for surround. Is that subwoofer sufficient?

Now if it isn't I am willing to purchase a new sub, would I be able to use both subs? or would I be better off with 1?

Budget: $550 max.
Size Req: None

Room Dimensions: This is kinda hard b/c I am in the process of purchasing a home so my dimensions are going to change I just don't know to what. Most likely it will be in a basement or living room of your average 3 bedroom home if that helps.

Primary uses: 70% Home Theater 20% TV 10% Music

Listening habits: I like that good clean bass that extends nice and deep that you can feel.

Timeframe: None I can wait...

thanks guys!

If you think the RPW-10 sub gives you clean bass that extends nice and deep then you are going to be in for a shocker if you build your own sub ;)

You have come to the right place if you want TRUE HT performance for under $600!!

As you know, that RPW is the lowest sub on the Klipsch totem pole. You CAN use the RPW with another sub, but it would require some effort, knowledge, and skill to do that properly. If you are not into fairly rigorously measuring your room's FR and even EQing, you'd be much better off using a single new sub.

There are several out there around your price range give or take 100 bucks. I recommend just doing a little digging on this forum then hit the sites for subs people are raving about.

Make a list of 3-5 subs that fit your price/size expectations then come back and ask about the specific subs features. Many of them already have very good reviews posted.

In the end its going to come down to the room size in your new home. If we tailor this sub to your current room, then you move, you may be in the same situation you are in now. I myself have the RF-82's, RC-62, and RS-52's and in the process of purchasing Elemental Designs A5-350 (waiting for my taxes). This should fill my 13x24x9 room. I'm currently running a knock off you the RPW 10 and it just doesn't fill that size of a room at all nor does it go low enough to really take advantage of alot of the new audio codecs.
