Hey folks... I have a comcast hddvr with some recorded shows on it.. I am going to purchase a dvdr just to copy recorded shows from dvr to dvd... My questions are- what would be a decent dvdr to buy ( no tuner needed and not even gonna use to play anything back) and what would i need to hook up the dvr to the dvdr? ( s-video and audio from dvr to dvdr?) is it as simple as put dvd in dvdr , hit record, then start recorded program from hddvr? Thx in advance for any help....
im not interested in the dvd being hd,, Just want to transfer from dvr to dvd..thx again.

I do a lot of such transfers from my Comcast DVR. I recommend a DVDR with a HDD, so you can set up a transfer, leave, come back later to edit and burn to disc. Also, if you transfer direct and the DVD is a coaster, you have to transfer again, but not if you have a HDD.

If you live in or near Canada, there are several nice Pioneer models which I would recommend. If that isn't possible, there are Philips and Magnavox models with HDDs that are available in the US. There are threads about all of these models. If you just want the cheapest tunerless, and HDD-less DVDR you can find, someone else will have to make a recommendation.

Yes, your connections would be S-Vid, and R/L audio, out from the Moto to the DVDR.

Yes it's that easy. I won't disagree with Kjbawc about the usefulness of the HDD but if there just too spendy I might suggest a Panasonic EA-18. If you can find one they should be between $150 and $180 new and they make excellent recordings as long as you try and not go over 3hrs/disc. Other cheaper DVDRs I wouldn't really go over 2hrs/disc.
