I let my 4 year old watch a digital copy movie (Wall-E) on my Macbook.. Now, when I listen to my headphones, it seems like I am getting only the L and R channels of a multi-channel soundtrack.. So no dialog - like a 5.1 soundtrack with the center channel off..

I need stereo.. but I'm not sure where to go to change such a menu item..

You can look under sound in system preferences and when you plug the headphones in
it should be automatic if not try replugging a couple of times also in spotlight you can
type in midi player and see if it shows output to headphones which there again should
be automatic. Also if you are in I-Tunes look down at the lower right hand side and see
if the audio is computer as you have choices multiple on speakers.
