Hi all,
After months of research I finally finished my HT room. I still have some things to get and clean up but I wanted to first of all thank you for your insight and posts that gave me some of the great ideas I ended up using.

I also wanted to share my HT pics and screen build pics. A picture is worth a thousand words. If you have any questions about my build please ask...

Very nice job, see you used Popular, good hardwood, keeps straight.
I've use Popular for so many projects just for straight/no warp.

Nice room also.

very nice picture site fedex... :-). But I'm a bit curious why you chose to stick with a flat frame screen, rather than curving it, say per Mike's instructions... ?

I ended up going with the Panasonic PT-AE3000u which has the memory lens feature...it has its quirks, but it really is nice and I am happy with it. I am in the process of making the manual side masking for 16x9 content. My plan is to use foam core board that is the 1/4 inch thick variety and wrapping it in velvet, then using magnets to hold it up there. But in all reality it is not that distracting without it. But I am going to try it to see the difference, I have plenty of left over velvet.

Thanks!

Screen size is 51"x120" 130" diag for 2.35 content

With 1.78 content it is 51"x90.5" 104" diag...

Yeah I am on the A300-600. Also fly the A310-200, and -300. We are starting to get some 757's in and the first 777 shows up this summer.

.....Come on you had to have gotten a little nervous watching "Cast Away" (towards the beginning)

Man, you should be well pleased with yourself, that's an awesome home cinema - well done.

It looks as though you have thought of everything down to the uplighters and I bet they dim!

Well done

I noticed on your screen pics that there is a sort of backlighting glow outside the frame. Is this intentional bias lighting or light seeping through the screen and reflecting off the back wall? If it is the latter - I had a similar situation with one of my setups, and I was able to improve my on-screen contrast significantly by hanging black velvet behind the screen to stop any stray light from being reflected off the wall and back through the screen.

FWIW.

Fantastic job mate. From the look at this project, your screen seems to be quite light in weight comparing to other people's projects.

I see many people use laminate as for their screens, how reliable are they comparing to the standard screen cloths ?

Cheers
