Are there any tricks or recommended software for making copies, on my computer, of DVD discs recorded on a Panasonic DMR-EA18. I have tried several DVD's on the Sonic program and the Nero program, with errors arising and not being able to copy these DVD's.
Thanks for any info with this issue .... George

Were the discs finalized on the EA18 first, before putting them in the pc drive?
Making copies on the pc is very simple. Download DVD Shrink here-http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DVD_Shrink, it's free, and can make a copy of it to the pc hard drive, and then burn to disc using the ImgBurn program that comes with it (there's a link specifically for the bundled version in the 2nd paragraph).
Sonic=stinkola ville, avoid at all costs.
Nero=bloated blunder, but better than Sonic-when it doesn't crash.

What type of disc are you trying to copy? DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD+R, or one of the R/Ws? -RAM and -+R/W don't need to be finalized but -R and +R are easier to copy after they're finalized. Unfinalized media from a DVD recorder looks horrifically defective to typical burning/backup software, they don't know what to make of it: finalize before copying for best results.Westly-C's software recommendations are right-on. ImgBurn is the most accurate backup software you can use, and its free.
