First things first: Here is my set up:

Reciever: Onkyo TX-SR606
Front Towers: Polk TSI300 (x 2)
Center: Polk CSI A4
Subwoofer: Polk PSW 125
2 Rears: Polk OWM3 (x 2)

I had installers come out a couple weeks ago to install and hook up everything, but they used Optical and Digital cables for my PS3 and cable box. I wanted HDMI for audio so I just hooked that up today. Now, I notice static coming from the center and the 2 front towers. I asked on another forum and they said to check your speaker cables and I did and I think they're ok. I don't think the HDMI's are the problem because when I have the PS3 and cable box turned off and just the Onkyo on, it still makes the noise. So does anyone know how to get rid of it? If you need anymore info or anything let me know. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.

Disconnect both HDMI cables. Does static stop?
No - double check all cable/wire connections to A/V receiver.
Yes - Add one HDMI at a time and try to isolate to specific device or cable.

And do you mean by static a "Buzzing" sound?

buzz? hum? crackling? pops? clicks? whine? white noise? whoosh? shoosh? farts? burps? rattle? ... and a plethora of other descriptors left to interpretation. :)

Check your A/C cables and your A/V cables to make sure that you are not running any of these parallel to each other. If you NEED to cross, it nees to be perpindicular to each other. Also, if you do not have a dedicated circuit, get a ground lift or spend some money on a really good line conditioner with a minimum of 53db EMF and RFI rejection.

... and if that doesn't eliminate the "static", next recommendation? ;)

I don't really know how to describe the noise, but it's like a steady static. I unplugged all the HDMI cables and the noise was still there.

I'll post pics of the connections in the back of the receiver.

I don't know if this is a problem, but the speaker cables are all looped together in a circle. I took some pics of the back of the receiver and the connections to see if any of you can spot a problem.

Links don't work.

Disconnect all wire/cables/devices to receiver.
Add speaker wire connections.
Check for static.
Add one device at a time.
Use a methodical process to pinpoint the offending wire/cable/device.
