anyone have experience with these combos?

SVS, SCS speakers L,R, & C

Infinity, Beta 40 left & right, C250 center


I planned on going SVS, and ordered a 5.1 setup (have SBS for surrounds, and the SCS center, and PB-12NSD sub already, the SCS mains are on backorder). I fell into a deal on some mint Beta 40s, so I picked those up thinking I'd use them in the game room. Now the wife likes the look of the Infinitys better, so maybe use them in the theater room instead and pick up the matching center? (the C360 is too big, have to settle for the C250 if I go this route).

When the SCS come in I can A/B the 2, but still wont have the full comparison without buying the Infinity center speaker.

Anyone else been down this path before?

If I elect to go with the Infinitys in the HT, should I keep the SBS speakers as surrounds, or swap those out for Infinitys as well?

I would say this fully depends on your listening skills.

If your ears are very sensitive to detail then you would notice the difference when the sound pans from the Infinity's to the SVS speakers.

I have beta 50's with a 360 center & they sound great. You could do a A/B test with infinity's without a center (phantom center) & still compare them to the SVS.
