Anyone have any good suggestions? I just got some 3 way indoor/outdoor speakers from Circuit City to replace my cheap HTiB speakers that I have been using for the past year, and I would like to hear them really blast some high quality sound. Anyone have any recommendations?

Do you know that the rears are working as expected? If not...

Digital Video Essentials - HD or SD.

Any disc with the THX optimizer.

Both of these suggestions contain test tones for speaker ID and level balancing. Doesn't really matter if the disc is SD or HD - it's all the same unless your audio processor (receiver or whatever) has a problem with a particular codec - unlikely.

I just wanted to hear them really sound off, so I figured that lossless audio would be preferable.

If you're looking for lossless with action from the rears, try Batman Begins. The scene on the ice, and pretty much anything during the city battles.

It's not HD DVD (or DVD-A) - it is a 5.1 DD and DTS DVD instead.

I would sugest the U-571. You can feel the depth charges exploded all around you. Good workout for the surround speakers.
