I own an old Toshiba RD-KX50SU which is similar to the RD-XS52 but smaller hard drive. The KX was a BestBuy model or that’s where I bought mine several years ago.

I recently bought a HDTV and dropped cable. To get my old Toshiba RD-KX50SU working with OTA DTV I hooked up a Channel Master CM-7000 analog to digital converter.

The Channel Changer IR works greats but I can’t get the “Auto Clock Settings” to work anymore. It scans though all the channels on the Channel Master via the IR changer but it comes back saying it can’t fine clock data channel. It is scanning through all the PBS channels which there are a lot now with DTV.

Is this just going to be a problem with older DVRs and I’ll be forced to use manual settings which I’ll have to adjust once a month?

I did a bit of searching and I didn’t find a similar post but if there is one, I’m sorry for posting about this issue again.

Yes I'm afraid the handy "auto clock" feature on our analog DVDRs will be a thing of the past. I'm still getting it since I have both the CM-7000 and my antenna hooked to my DVDR but auto clock and my analog TVGOS will be going away when they turn off the analog OTA broadcasts:(
Time will tell what will happen to people using analog cable but for us OTA people it's only a matter of a few months.

Oh well...

Thanks for the information regarding the auto clock
