I'm having trouble attaching a first gen Mac Mini (Power PC) to my new Samsung PN63A760.
The mini is currently used on a Sharp AQUOS LC-42D64U running at 1360x768@60hz. Connected via a DVI to HDMI cable.
When I move the mini to the Samsung and use HDMI port 2 (suggested by the Samsung manual as the one that should be used) I get no image at all when the mini boots. The screen cycles from "no input" to "mode not supported."
The Sammy's manual lists 1360x768@60hz as a supported resolution, so I hooked up my Powerbook to the Sammy and I can get that resolution fine and see the laptops "extended" display... and get many other resolutions.
So I tried booting the mini while using a DVI to VGA converter just to see if I can get the mini to work with the Sammy at all. I get the gray Apple boot screen, then the display goes blank... meaning the mini is changing resolutions and the Samsung doesn't like it.
I can't imagine what resolution this could be since the mini works fine on the Sharp, and the Powerbook works fine in all resolutions on the Samsung. Perhaps an odd boot glitch?
Can anyone with a similar set-up offer any advice?
Thanks,
Dave
