Hey I'm new to this forum. Any way i got a kdf-e42a10 free of charge today, my friend told me if i could fix it i could have it....Long story short got it home plugged it in, and i get flashing green light then solid gray screen for 30 seconds then off with again flashing green light. any hepl with this would be greatly appreciated.

That's the same thing that happened with mine after the repairman replaced the light engine. He had to take everything apart again and check all the plug in connectors. One of the connectors was loose, and after he plugged it in firmly, the picture came back. Don't know if that's the problem, but it's worth a try.

What is the pattern of flashing? How many flashes between pauses, if any?

from pushing the power button 13 sequential flashes steady on for 20 seconds with the Grey screen then 49 flashes Grey screen for 3 seconds then same pattern screen on then off......

took every thing apart checked all the connections every thing plugged in sigh:confused: any other ideas?

Update i have tried different things with this tv and am bout at my wits end the latest thing i have tried i connected a dvd player to one of the inputs and i get sound and a slight flicker in darkness and bright the tv now stays on but still just a grey screen ........please help
