I bought my dad a harmony remote for his birthday and am having an issue setting it up.

Only components are
TV
Cable Box
DVD player

If the tv and cable box are off and I turn everything on, it works fine.

If the DVD player is on and I hit the Watch TV button, the cable box doesn't turn on. If I click Help it asks is the box on and I say no, it turns it on fine. I figured if I did that 3 or 4 times it would "re learn" whatever it was doing wrong but it keeps doing it.

I'm just not sure where to look in the software on this issue. If it was doing it all the time, I would just go to that activity.

Any ideas?

The Harmony is not a learning remote; HELP is only a temporary fix. If you're using HELP, it means you need to adjust your account settings.

Increase inter-device delay for the cable box to 2000 and to 1800 for the DVD player (I'm assuming the existing delays are lower than either number I chose, if not then increase it more ... say if it's already 2000, increase to 3000). Update and test.

thanks for the suggestion. The inter-device delay for the dvd was 500. The cable box was 0. I changed the cable box to 1000. I'll email him and have him update and test the remote tomorrow.
