The great transfer, great performance of A.Jolie, good music score also the best director, another good movie from Clint Eastwood. This BD is the best in every aspects as I told, the running time more than 2 hours and I wasn't bored cause of solid story telling. This film, the police must see. Can't wait for another's Eastwood film.:)Please don't be confused with the old great ghost movie,I talk about the new movie of Angelina Jolie,a nominated for the best actress of Oscar this year.:)

Either someone magnificently botched the title or Angelina Jolie isn't even in this movie.

This film is Changeling. There is another film from the late seventies with George C. Scott and Melvyn Douglas called The Changeling (which is one of the best ghost movies ever made).

Clint did something similar with Unforgiven, as there was an earlier John Huston Western called The Unforgiven with Burt Lancaster and Audrey Hepburn and a stellar supporting cast.

i haven't seen them all, but my guess is that the nominees deserve to be picked from this list:

changeling
the reader
doubt
milk
frost/nixon
the wrestler
the dark night

but the winner will be picked from this list:

slumdog millionaire
benjamin button

I wonder wether the story the kid that escaped gives at the end is true or not. I know the movie is based on a true story but they changed things, for one the crazy guy wasn't alone in real life, his crazy mom was in on it too. And in the movie they never mention that he molested them too although anyone would be able to figure out that most likely happened anyway.

If you are interested in the real story search at Amazon for the book "Nothing is strange with you". I've got it on order. Changeling is not based on this book but both are based on the same events.

I liked Changeling a lot, and thought the rust/sepia treatment the film possesses worked well. Jolie really owns this movie and I was really impressed with her here.

The boom of BR has hit me where it hurts with rentals. This title was "all rented out" in the three BB's I stopped at after work Tuesday (Long wait on BB.com) One manager, says he has a couple of customers that come up at opening and rent the latest BR titles. DAMN THEM ;)

Ron Howard was one of the producers, I'm not sure why he didn't end up directing as well, but Brian Grazer[Ron's partner at Imagine Ent.] solicited Clint to direct it. Soon as I saw this was a Universal release I thought something was odd, knowing Clint's decades long almost exclusive collaboration with WB.

I thought this movie was uninspired... particularly Angelina's portrayal of the mother... "Where's my son"!!!?? That was repeated too often. The writer doomed this one from the start. It was a doom and gloom with little to praise when it finally ended. Actually, I was relieved when this one finally started to roll the credits.. Too long, too.

I was never a big Clint fan growing up in the 70s. Pretty much a one-dimensional actor and I didn't follow his career. Then I went to see Unforgiven and all that changed. I'll never forget the feeling I had walking out of that film. Soon after I rented Bird and realized we are dealing with a modern day John Houston. No complement could be better.

What makes him such a great director is that he basically tells the story and knows how to achieve the right pacing, like Hitchcock, Houston and Ford.

Changling was fantastic and the BD sensational. The shadowing was a thing of beauty, almost like a B&W film in its demeanor.
