I purchased a JVC DVD/Receiver from Ebay model number JVC RX-DV3SL!

The seller saids the remote works but when I try with new batteries in it; it will not turn the receiver on. How do I test to see if the remote works; or to see if the receiver's sensors are the trouble?

I thinking of buying a Harmoney 620 to setup the unit's speakers inputs; that is to tell it that I want the Center and Subwoofers to be included. Does the Harmony go down to that level or function?

Thanks.

Harry

A Harmony will work with all functions of every component I've ever tried. I would be very surprised if it didn't fit your needs. One of Harmony's selling points is that they offer full functionality, eliminating the need for your original remotes. Stand by for a PM.

Thanks fireman325,

For replying back! I did not receive your private message. I have anti-virus software installed that prevented me from seeing your message.

I don't know how to go around this, however.

Thanks for your help.

The PM was info on buying certain Harmony remotes at 1/2 price. If you want, you can try to turn your anti-virus program off for a few minutes and I'll resend the PM. This is not a scam.

If you have a digital camera or camcorder, look through the eye piece as you point the remote at the camera and press a key on the JVC remote, if its working you should see light bursts as press the key.

A cellphone camera is also good for this.
