Recently I've noticed a rise in what I'm referring to as random friends invites through XBox Live. Has anyone else noticed this?
Just tonight I received an invite from someone who I don't recognize. They have 3265 for a gamerscore, but when I compare games don't have any games they've actually played.
I do play WaW from time to time, but I can't imagine people are trying to add me through playing WaW, especially since I don't even use the public chat feature.
Is anyone else receiving random/odd friends invites?

Maybe they saw your profile on Xbox.com. Otherwise just like yahoo messenger simply ignore and delete the request.

Sometimes I get that a lot when I play LIVE. After a few rounds with several people during a game, I notice a rise in requests...usually when people like you as the host of the game. It helps if you have the headset on.
Also, people can request to be a friend from selecting you from the "recently" played list.

^ Like he said..its probably from recently placed list. I get those alot too. I have 98 friends, only about 10 I know in real life.

Oh you don't know what it's like to get random friend requests until you become known in the Halo 3 community. I get ~10 random requests a day if there's a spot open on my list. Just ignore it

You have an open spot? Friend request sent.

The OP said he checks and compares the "games played" lists and it doesn't match-up with the random requests, so that would rule out the requests coming from "recently played" people.
Maybe people are browsing the friends lists of their friends, and trying to add you from there?

You got it, whenever I see a request I check to see what games they may have played that I have. Of course, since I posted this, I haven't received any random friend requests...
Maybe you're right, perhaps people are just browsing and randomly sending stuff. Sundall, that doesn't sound like fun with those bazillion friends requests!
I recived a random message from someone saying there sending to all there friends.
There a new content was up on Forza 2 and for sale....
