I noticed something weird about my 46" panasonic TH-C46fd18 (same thing as PZ80U but matte finish bezel). I was watching TV in a dark room, and when i turned the TV off, i could see an image on the screen. I looked closer and notoced it was Image retention of the last image that was displayed on the screen. (i could see the dark shadow/outline of 2 people)
I wanted to test this out, so i hit the menu button and menu screen came up. I left it on the screen for about 15 seconds, and then turned the tv off. I was surprised to see that even with the TV off, i could clearly see the menu on screen (i could even read what it says). When i turn the tv back on again, and watch full screen content for a few seconds, then turn it off, the menu can no longer be seen on it, but whatever i was watching before turning off can be seen slightly.
Its not a big deal because during normal viewing i have never noticed IR/burn in, but I thought that IR was supposed to happen if i really abuse the set. I can see an image on a turned off screen even if it was displayed for only a few seconds. Anyone else notice this? Is this normal?
