Here is my 2.76:1 (Ben Hur Special) retractable screen. The size is 50" x 136". The screen folds up to the ceiling with the face pointing down. The front edge follows tracks made from two pocket door track kits. The rear edge is counterweighted by two 7 lb weights. (Currently weightlifting weights, I want to replace with sash weights to look better in the future.)

That is a sweet setup you have there. What sort of projector/scaler do you have to throw a 2.76:1 pic? Again congrats on the engineering there.

It is a Panasonic PT-AX200U mounted at the opposite wall. The room is approximately 15 feet wide by 20 feet deep. Projector is mounted on a board mounted to wall by shelf brackets. There is a step down into the room at the arch door. Door is not centered on room. Projector is centered to avoid side to side lens shift.

The door and step makes it easy to reach the projector from the adjacent room. This is a necessity since I am using the "poor man's" CIH technique, i.e., zooming. No need to debate that here! (Each side has its own religious arguments.) For my purposes, zooming is the way to go (for now.)

That is a sweet setup. I'll try and take pics of mine because my screen folds up to the ceiling as well but with the back facing down. Not a big deal for me b/c it is a dedicated room and the only time I fold up is for two channel music listening.

Question though - With the screen so high, why the need for AT? It looks like the speakers are actually below the screen.

Also, are you getting reflections off the wall/windows behind the screen? Before I covered my back wall in black velvet, the reflections from behind were killing the image quality. I could actually read text hitting the back wall through the screen and the screen was 41" in front of the wall. Even now, I can see light reflecting off the drivers in my magnepans through the screen in bright scenes.

No AT, this is standard black out cloth.

Yes the speakers are below the screen. No there is not currently a separate center speaker or sub. Center would be problematic without AT given the fireplace.
