Im looking to buy wires for my future system. I want to know if it's "the lowest AWG is best", or "AWG inversely related to the length of wire"

I will be running 6-8 ft for the fronts and ~ 30 ft for the rears. Thanks for all your help guys.

Thanks. What is a "two conductor wire"? Are the monoprice wires two conductor wires?

If yes, then I guess I can go with 16 and 14, just because they're cheap on monoprice...Any other advice?

Two conductor wire is just what it says. Two leads, one for the positive terminal, one for the negative. I would just go all 14ga on the wire. It's usually cheaper to just get a 100 ft. roll.

Good quality wire, very flexible and easy to pull through the walls. And usually in stock, unlike Monoprice.

Hey thanks for the recommendation. I've heard (don't remember where), that it's a matter of distance-AWG relationship, and remember that I had seen that for a distance of 6-8 ft, 16 AWG would be best. Is there any truth to this?

So the higher the AWG, the less resistance, and if not above a certain distance, there is no apparent advantage over a more resistant wire...except for price. Also, above this given distance, there is an advantage to using a lower AWG wire. Correct?

16AWG will be fine for all your wire runs/distance (longest ~30'). If you'd like to "step up" to 14AWG, that's fine too. Your choice.

The lower the AWG, the thicker the wire, and the less resistance over distance. Resistance is a bad thing for speaker wire. Too much of it, and all the power sent out by the amplifier does not get to your speakers. It goes into heating up your speaker wires. :)
