I use an RF20 in my living room w/ the RF receiver in a cabinet. I am building a media room in the basement below. I am on the fence as far as equip. rack location but may end up with it out of site, needing another RF setup. What do I need to plan for if I go this route? I was thinking about another RF20 but realized I may run into problems. Is there a way to setup the RF20 to run two in the house (directly above/below). If not, if I get another remote, say a different URC or a Harmony, can I resolve the issue that way?

If the components use the same IR codes in both rooms, there is no way to prevent the RF20 and the mrf100 basestation from controlling both at the same time. Short of unplugging the RF basestations.

If you use one of the MX series URC remotes and either an MRF-260 or 350, you can control two locations independently, as they are assignable (unlike the RF20 and MRF100). A different URC remote alone will not help as the MRF-100 will pick up the signal from any URC RF remote.

thanks for the input. I got a reply from URC confirming what is said here...so it's on to the next step. I am actually considering the Harmony 890 for the basement. Will there be any issues with the base stations picking up the wrong RF if upstairs is an RF20 and the Harmony 890 in the basement?

Does anyone know if an 890 (using RF) can coexist in the same house as a URC RF20 (using the RF base)? Are these RF signals different from each company?
