Is there a router out there that will do the same thing that windows media player sharing does?
I would like to do NAS on a router that will do the media sharing to the 360 w/o my pc being on!
Thanks in advance!

There are supposed to be various NAS boxes that support UPnP/AV. Do a web search for that.
That said, have you considered taking the network as well as the PC out of the mix? The 360 will play media off USB-connected storage (say, a Hard Drive) as well as it does by streaming. And it would be cheaper than a NAS.
The only caveats are that the content must be in one of the supported formats and the drive needs to be formatted as FAT32 or HFS+ but *not* NTFS.

I was using a partition on an external drive formatted with fat32 but the 4 gig file size was frustrating! I see that hfs+ supports up to 2 terabytes though! I think I may try this out. Thanks for the suggestion!

Macdrive has a demo version you can use to test this out from a PC.

The Promise SmartStor series (NAS) correctly supports the non standard Microsoft UPnP/DLNA client on the Xbox 360. I helped them troubleshoot it as it was being developed. You will need to check with the NAS manufacturer to see if they specifically support the Xbox 360. Simply having a UPnP/DLNA service running is not enough.
On the downside the currrent Promise UPnP/DLNA applet has some issues with large libraries and updating when content is added or removed. The good news is that they are very close to releasing a new applet and firmware to the general public that should fix these issues.
Using the DLNA client and music really is odd for some reason. The Xbox 360, when browsing, relies totally on the MP3 tags to sort and pick out the music. You cannot browse a directory structure like you can when viewing movies and pictures. Additionally with the DLNA client there is no transcoding so the media has to be in a format that the Xbox 360 will play or you will get errors.
Hope this helps you out!
