View Full Version : Can an arm be removed from a Berkline 090 chair?

About four years ago, I purchased three 090 chairs: a left-armed chair, a right-armed chair, and a chair with both arms. All three have power recline and factory-installed butt-kickers.

I'm considering purchasing a fourth chair, but would like to change the configuration to four chairs in line with a love seat in the middle. Ideally, I'd need two right-armed chairs and two left-armed chairs, but I have a single two-armed chair that I want to use. My questions are:

1) Can I remove the arm of my two-armed chair, that does not have the power recline button, so that I may use it as part of a love seat?

2) The 090 of four years ago no longer appears as a model number. Have the chairs changed such that, even if I can do Item 1 above, a new chair wouldn't match my existing chairs? I wouldn't want that even if could remove an arm.

I wrote Berkline, but didn't receive a response. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Larry,

1. Yes the armrest can be removed, but you will need to replace the metal bars that the armrests are attached to. You would need the shorter ones.

2. The new number for the 090 is 45090. The model is still available.

Hi, Roman! I purchased my chairs from you. Can the replacement of long bars with short bars that you referred to be done by me despite the presence of the butt-kickers and power recline? Also, is the 45090 just like the 090 in all aspects?

LarryGM,

Yes to both questions.

Hey Roman, I picked up a 3 pk directly from your warehouse on the island last year. I want to purchase the shorter arms needed to remove one arm from (2) two arm chairs I already had. Are these different by model #? Just let me know what else you need. I'm ready to order through you.
