Hi everyone, just got my new VPL-HW10. Pretty blown away by the picture; it looks good. I'm just wondering though...when the projector isn't connected to the PC the image is much larger (a good 10% beyond the borders of my screen), and the same is the case when calibrating the panel alignment etc. I'm wondering if I'm somehow missing out on 10% of my pixels and not therefore getting a full 1080p. Surely they wouldn't have extra pixels not used when connected to a source but still on the panel?

Any thoughts? If this is a problem, how do I fix it?

Another quick question while I'm at it; is there any way to connect a VGA source at 1080p? The highest resolution being reported by the projector is 1280*768, which seems really odd to me (as VGA supports resolutions above 2000 pixels width). Perhaps this is just Sony trying to drive HDMI uptake, but is there a way to fix that? Not a huge problem as I'm mainly using it with HDMI, but would be nice to know I could use VGA too...

You have to turn overscan off (set it to 0) in your graphics card settings. If youre using ATI, its within the Catalyst Control Center

Thanks, that did the trick (in Catalyst 9.1 this is a slider...if anyone else has this issue you just need to drag it all the way to the right (towards overscan 0%)).

I know this is fixed, but also note there are overscan settings in the projector (for others who may have similar issue).
