heloo every body
I have just bought a Philips DVDR3590h and when i connected to reciver it give a message (no signal detected).
the connection like that.
reciver vedio+audio OUT --> DVD vedio+audio IN
DVD vedio+audio OUT --> TV vedio+audio IN

some one told me the DVD is protected to not detect the reciver signal

I have spoke with Philips sales man he said to me the device is locked. and its need an activation code to work with receiver and other device. but they cant give me this code.
i mean not the multi region code, its diffrent code.
any body have that code?

for the expert people what is the solution?

thank you

Since your 3590 is an analog-tunered Philips for everywhere except North America, have to be careful in trying to "help" here.

Not sure what the "receiver" is... it could be like the U.S. Cable TV set-top box (STB) or a Satellite STB, which require different connection setups.

Depending on which type of STB you're trying to use the 3590 with, here are two sketches for people with STBs (receivers (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showpost.php?p=12298409&postcount=10)). Sketch 1b is for a Cable TV system (non-satellite), and Sketch 2b is for a Satellite system (dish antenna here).

Basically, if your system is like Cable TV (Sketch 1b), you need to put the 3590 1st on the coax and scan for channels. It should receive whatever channels you receive that aren't scrambled.

IF, hoewever, your receiver is for Satellite reception, like Dish or DirecTV here, then you must NOT connect the 3590 1st on the coax from the dish antenna... connect like shown in Sketch 2b and select the INPUT on the 3590 that you connect the receiver to... no need to scan for channels since everything has to come from the reciever.

For either setup, the connection shown from the 3590 (DVDR) to the TV is the one you'll watch anything from the 3590 itself, like menus, HDD titles, DVDs, and channels if connected per Sketch 1b).
