I bought an Archos TV+ at the Circuit City closeout this week and it is well supported with ElGato's EyeConnect 1.6 and EyeTV 3.1.

The TV+ is a standalone MPEG 4 encoder combined with a network-streaming media player. I had never heard of it before I bought it. I figured the 80GB hard drive in it was worth nearly what I paid for it.

It requires purchase of a $20 plug in to play MPEG 2 video, and there is another $20 plugin to play H.264. It quickly connected to my Mac network for playing video, audio and displaying photos via EyeConnect.

If anyone has any questions about this combination let me know.

I also have an AlTech Mediagate MG-350HD which is a HD player. It also can access the Mac network using EyeConnect but I encountered a variety of problems with that. So it is better suited for playing video from its own hard drive.

So it plays HD recording from EyeTV? EyeConnect is said to be DlNA compliant but every time I've tried to mess with it I couldn't get my DlNA Blu-ray player to see my EyeTV recordings. I would see EyeConnect once give an error on connection and then fail to see anything else. And EyeConnect is different from ElGato so they've been of little help, including the guys at Macworld.
And I figure with the 'EyeTV' packages nothing else would be able to stream them successfully--I was able to pull out the raw MPEGs and stream them from my NAS.

ElGato does have a user forum for EyeConnect issues. You'll find its heading in the EyeTV Software forum.

I need to do some more testing before I can confirm how well my MediaGate can stream EyeTV HD recordings via EyeConnect. I'll get back on that.

The Archos TV+ cannot play HD video so that isn't an option.

Make sure you have EyeConnect 1.6 and EyeTV 3.1. Your device isn't among those listed as supported but then again neither of mine are listed either.

I just played an EyeTV HD recording via EyeConnect and the MediaGate over my wireless network. This is using UpNp. I don't have a DINA device.
