I'm waiting for a few final HD caps (pretty much all the screencaps have been upgraded) and some image correction from another user. All known typos are already corrected, BUT IF ANYONE SEES ANY TYPOS BE SURE TO LET ME KNOW ASAP :p) !!!

I've gone in and corrected as many image problems as I could manage, as well as some minor layout ones. There's a new octagonal border around each page, and I inserted the colonial seal into each Disc Listing (a la the dvd sets).

Also, if anyone has any suggestions for resizing the entire document for the box set (so that it can fit in one of those Season slots), I'm all ears...

fwiw I use a Panasonic bd35, at firmware 2.0, with an Onkyo 875 and the dts master plays fine.

Are you bitstreaming? What firmware revision is running on your 875?

875 is at 1.08 along with newest DSP (see my sig for 805 and 875 Main firmware, DSP firmware, and HDMI 1.02 as well as directions on how to check your versions)

My Panasonic bd player is set to bitsream both Dolby and DTS, BD secondary audio is off.

So far I have watched every episode (extended versions only when available) from season 1 up to Razor, no audio problems.

The Plan isn't out yet, so it isn't included in the box. It comes out 10/27/09 so you will have to buy that separately.

Caprica is a spinoff show of BSG and not part of the series so that is also not included.

Caprica isn't available on Blu as yet, (and is actually considered a different series). And The Plan doesn't get released until October 27th.

The season boxes in the box set are just over 4 3/4" (pretty close to 12.2cm) wide. I found that a size reduction to 95% was about the right size, using the 2-wide double-sided duplexing I described earlier, which defaults certain things about margin sizes, etc. if you reduce the size of the image per page but print out using "resize to fill the page" you don't really change anything.

Using your current booklet design, the booklet is a little shorter than the season boxes. The boxes are 6 3/4" tall, whereas the reduced printout is about 6 1/4" tall. Not a big deal, so more of a preference for what ratio you prefer.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll be incorporating most of them. I'm leaving off John's name (and the rest of the Cylons to make them all match) and the reason why is because it's what I consider fairly significant spoiler material (most of "No Exit" is built around that name and how he got it). "Sherman" is also a nice reveal in "Daybreak" and therefore falls under the same conditions.

It's a tough line to draw, how much to give away and how much not to (after all, check out my image selections for the first and last discs of 4.5 ), but in trying to make this book as "real" as possible, I try to take in consideration the amount of information normally imparted. For instance, all the episode descriptions are from the various dvd sets, and as the season went on, the descriptions got vaguer and vaguer. You suggested leaving off Cally's maiden name, but considering that name became a hyphenate at a certain point, I also wanted to leave that particular detail unrevealed as well.

On a side note, I always hate how much stuff is sometimes given away on DVD menus/booklets. BSG and 24 (especially the 2nd season) are particularly guilty of this practice -- but then again I'm the type of person who likes to come into a show as cold as possible. Like I said, its a tough line, and if you can argue to contrary, I'm all ears.

Anyway, that's my thought process on the matter, and thanks for pointing out the other errors I had!

However, that said...I am up to Season Four and all this BD set has done for me is to remind me what a great series Battlestar Galactica is. PQ is fine, but what is really impressive is the DTS-MA soundtrack. It is giving my dual SVS subs a real workout.

Once you get down to the 5th row or so, your eyes may have a bit of trouble staying on the same line, the leader dots would help. Just my 2¢.

Hmmm. All good points, the opinions here and at the BSG prop forum I belong to all prefer "a" and "d". I think I'm going to split the difference and publish an alternative page at the end, much like I did for the temp version, this way people can print the page they want.

Tspeer, these are the candidates for the currently existing cast page. They are not meant to be additional pages, but as potential replacements. Also, those serial numbers are indeed accurate for those characters who have them.

Rl3058, on the "A" page, I have reversed my decision about leaving out Cottle's first name, and will be including it, as well as all of the characters ranks, like it is on the prop (http://archive.battlestarprops.com/vimg/1002/3ecd5a235c9abf867fbc1cc23a8845ae) I based it on .

"A" is my original concept (the legibility of smaller names is a major concern in the reduced size of a physical book), but "D" has a cleaner look and better balanced, style-wise, by the following page.

Is it just me or has the community done more for this series than the publisher? The booklets are looking really nice.

As I'm watching these, the first thing that has bugged me about not having the booklet is...

Pegasus standard episode is the last on one disc... then Pegasus extended episode is the first on the next disc. If you didn't look to see, you could watch Pegasus standard and then wish you hadn't because now you have to watch it twice in a row to see the extended version.

2nd thing that bugs me is the layout of the extra content.

In season 3, the "Resistance" webisodes are on disc 2 for some reason. If you watch these, you should really watch them prior to season 3 start... so I don't know why they didn't shuffle content around to put these as an extra on disc 1 instead.

I'd hold off on that, Version 4.0 (which should be the final one) is on its way, hopefully within the next week or so...

That's the way "The Resistance" was presented on the DVD set as well. Annoying, to be true -- had "Face Of The Enemy" been included it probably would have been on D2.

In most of the cases, I personally didn't like the extended cuts (they had good material, but were not overall as tight as the broadcast versions). Skip and watch them once you're done with the entire season in question.

Not BSG at all. I'm looking for a physical copy of the LOST S1 cardstock slipcover that came with the set (in lieu of the more sturdy case that was made for the S3 set. I got a used one yesterday without said cover.

One would think that if the show was shot in HD from the beginning, then the rough-cuts of the deleted scenes would still be in HD unless they actually took time to reduce them to SD for some reason.

That's a good point... and I wouldn't have even questioned the SD deleted scenes if it weren't for having to watch that "this is how we shot BSG in HD" video 3 times now! #4 will be when I get to season 4 discs.. although my fear is it might be on the Razor disc, 4.0, and then 4.5... so I might have 3 more viewings of that intro to sit through!

Even better point on the webisodes... those were presumably finished so I'm surprised we didn't get those in HD... unless they didn't shoot the Webisodes in HD.

Meanwhile, on a weird note... It's interesting how some of the deleted scenes actually make it partially into future episodes as flashbacks OR sometimes in the opening credits "previously on BSG" scenes... so unlike some deleted scenes that "never happened" it would appear that many of the BSG deleted scenes are actually in continuity scenes that just didn't air.

OK, before I go nuts fixing the sizes of all these pages, let's see if they work first. I used the measurements provided by Nathan Webel and shinksma to create full rez, size-scaled templates.

Seeing as how I don't have a (reliable) printer, hopefully one of you can print/trim 'em and see if they fit. In order to preserve the proportions, I kept the width of the Box Set page constant, but the height is a little smaller. The Amaray case images are slightly stretched out. (The original individual page designs are 8x11, which seems proportionally different from the Amaray Case when scaled down.). I also left a tiny gap between the two images to allow for the inevitable folding/batching of multiple pages.

They shouldn't need to be further scaled downward when printing, but 9.5 does sound like it will bleed off the edges. If there's a trick to it, let us know, so that I can incorporate it into the final instructions.

FYI, all the previous links are now dead in anticipation for the final release. I will most likely end up publishing both sizes.

HDMe2, the producers started the "new" footage trick during the previouslies in S2 in order to get around the various holes they left during the narrative (I believe they specifically mention this tactic in the commentary for "Daybreak" or "Islanded in A Stream". Cheap storytelling method, but whatever. And yes, I too would have preferred the webisodes in HD, but they (and the deleted scenes) were of the same quality in the DVD sets as well.

When you release the final pdf files could you also offer a version that has the pages in a chronological order within the file?
Acrobat has the option to print those as a booklet and it makes it easier to view.

I believe it is another example of how they changed their minds mid-stream... after they figured having a "magic bullet" situation was bad for the show. Unfortunately, they never fully explained the change within the show, so it leaves the viewer wondering "wha hoppen".

A reporter on the show asked her the same question, but no answer was ever given. Could be that it was tried, but it didn't work. Helo and Sharon may have been too pissed at her to allow it again. Any number of possibles. Honestly, it probably isn't all that important.

9/12 update:

Layout is 75% done for Box Set and Amaray Case sizes. I printed two test pages, the measurements for the Box Set size were fine, the Amaray Case was too big (vertically). I am NOT reformatting every page for the horizontal increase (proportionally speaking), nor will I release a version that has stretched images (anathema to my sensibilities), therefore the Amaray Case version will be slightly smaller than its standard insert size (horizontally).

Layout is in Adobe Acrobat, it was reported up thread that one can set an option to print a booklet (which automagically repaginates everything). Is that correct (?), because I'd rather not have to post 4 different copies (2 x normal layout version, 2x print layout). Since I've resized everything, one (theoretically) shouldn't need to resize it any further. Or perhaps there's a known ratio one can print the Box Version in that would fit the A case, which I'd rather utilize (less work for me = faster release time).

(ARRGH too many options).

OMG! I know it's because I live in the middle of nowhere, but it told me $96 for shipping! I suspect if I called them and told them they could use another method rather than "federal express ground" for that much they probably would, but wow!


Luckily I've forwarded that link to the Aussie company to my dad, who lives over there. He's going to get me 6 cases and put them in with the box they send for my kids' christmas presents. :)


Edited to add: I changed out my arctic info to my uncle's info down in Alberta and the shipping went down to around $15. I wonder if they think it has to go via either first class on the airlines or... via dogsled to justify that insane jump in price. :eek:

Got to watch the last disc yesterday. Took about 2 weeks to work the viewing into my schedule, but it was worth it. What I found fascinating was how well things fit together when viewing the series via BD. I didn't have to try to remember what happened 6 months ago when a "season finale" episode was aired.

Crappy packaging aside (and it is....getting the discs into and out of those flimsy cardboard sleeves is a real trick without tearing something, or bending the disc) I have to say that I'm glad I bought the set.

Glad I jumped on these, I figured they would not be able to handle the onslaught of the video crowd once word got out.
I have Six 6 disc cases, Two 3 Disc cases and one 5 Disc case that should be arriving tomorrow. All for around 25 bucks I think, not a bad deal at all. Already working on some custom cases!!

Post #1074 has the link to the full res covers.... cases were left for the fith disc on seasons two and three (I thinK) as not to mix different seasons in one case i'm guessing

A bit about the set:

There are 11 cases. I needed an odd number of cases to make sure the spine image wasn't cut directly down the middle with a seam.

Seasons 2 and 3 both have a case that contain only one disc (the 5th disc in each season)

The Razor disc is included as the first disc of Season 4.

Because the fourth season was broken up into 4 & 4.5 (as a money grab in my opinion), I re-numbered the discs on the back. So instead of season 4.5, discs 1, 2, 3, you'll find season 4 discs 3, 4, 5.

The back covers have the quote from the official packaging, along with a list of all episodes and special features on a per disc and per episode basis. There is also a legend explaining what each special feature is (ex. Battlestar Blips = On-screen facts and trivia). Each case has three preview images from the episodes on the disc(s) that are contained within. As you move your way through the cases, the back cover will become more and more damaged to reflect Galactica's worsening condition in the series.

Too bad that site doesn't have any of the super slim cases. I could use a few more of those. Maybe a couple dozen instead of buying another BD case. :D

Your professional work shows Hollywood studios often only care to make the external packaging looks attractive for the marketing display. Universal probably spent the entire packaging budget on the impractical box than useful episode guide booklet that is far more useful.

It will be funny if Universal uses your excellent episode guide when the individual seasons are released.

Man, I know I've said it before but I have to say it again. This is such a fantastic job. Just looking through the guide and seeing the pictures, as well as how well-laid out it is makes me wish I had the time to just vege out and watch the entire series right now. :D

I just clicked into the folders, then it was listed BOX SET BOOKLET and in the other folder AMARAY CASE BOOK (bit longer than that but you get the idea) and I could d/l the files directly from there. Click those and it brings you to the page that says it will d/l. I figured maybe I was having issues b/c I'm using Safari, but this is what worked for me. Also just click the READ ME FIRST thing and it will d/l too.

However, There is a problem with the Amaray case file. On page 8 only half the image shows and Acrobat gives and error of "Insufficient Data for an Image."

I downloaded the individual page replaced it and saved it with Acrobat Professional. So I am good to go but others may not be able to do this.

Problem fixed, I made a replacement file and swapped it out with the old one. (this is also why I had all the individual pages up as well).

I've downloaded them and am getting ready to print the (PRINT LAYOUT FORMAT) version for the box set booklet. But theres an odd number of pages in the PDF. Doesnt there need to be an even number since we are double sided printing?

Edit: I can confirm my suspicions, it needs another page (another 2 pages in the booklet). Has to be divisible by 4 (the number of booklet pages) to print 2 pages per side of 8.5 x 11 paper to be able to make into a booklet.

Edit again: Ok looking closely at all the pages, it appears that the last 2 pages are duplicates. So if I just print pages 1 thru 16, leaving out page 17, that its a proper booklet.

You may want to consider creating a new post with the links to the booklet and the case inserts, then asking a mod to make it a sticky. This work is too valuable to be buried so deep into the thread. I'm sure many will find your work incredibly helpful.

When you open it in Adobe Reader, click the little bookmark icon on the top of the left bar (second from top, has a ribbon over two pages). This will open up the page view, along with the names of each of the original pages ("01 FINAL PRINT LAYOUT AMARAY," "02 FINAL..."

Now when you go to print, take a physical page and lay it down on a surface. The side you can't see (touching the surface) is the back. The side you're looking at is the front. Therefore, the order is as follows:

01 goes on the first page, on the back, 02 on the front. Insert a new page (Second) and print 03 on the back, 04 on the front. Insert a third page.... and so on/so forth in that order (per the instructions in the READ ME FIRST file). If it helps, you can label your physical pages on the top corners since there's no printing image there (assuming you're using the correct print settings-- after all, I think many printers automatically default images (increasing or decreasing them) to fit an 8x11 page).

DO NOT set your printer to FIT TO PAGE when printing, they're already sized to fit the Case or Box (minus the dead space and black horizontal borders). Page scaling should be set at "none."

It also might help to print only one page at a time, as everyone's printer is different and you don't want to end up with upside down pages (i.e. check your alignment in the way the printer actually prints on a page. I use a little arrow in the top corner myself.)

Yes, the physical layout is correct (I made sure of it with my dummy copy, that's why there's a few spreads in there, to pad the pages out to a multiple of 4), I placed the alt page with the different cast list at the end (04A). You should only be printing pages 1-16 (01-16), and not 17 (04A). 17 (04A) is there for those who prefer the BSG Propworx inspired cast list (oddly enough, the people on the Propworx forum preferred my final version).

So say you wanted to use 04A instead of 04. I'd batch print pages 1-3 first, and then use the single sheet with the blank side to print 04A (by itself) on the blank half. You can then go back in and batch print the remaining pages.

I'd suggest using an independent one (and not a Staples/Kinkos) as they have issues with copyrighted material that makes them difficult to deal with sometimes. But they may print it out, who knows.

Mine shipped today from the UK. Also knocking on any wood I can find that Amazon packaged it well enough to survive the trip across the pond.

The printer was one that I just picked up off of Amazon. It's a Epson NX415 that I got off of Amazon for about $70. It's an all-in-one that did an excellent job printing the booklet. Although it did go through about half of the included ink to print it. So worth it, though.

Yep... it's gonna get to the point where buying a new printer is the cheapest way to get ink. :) Buy the printer, use the ink, then throw it all away and repeat.

Got my set today, loving it and well worth the money and the cost of importing it.

I recieved my UK set yesterday and we have some funny retailers over here as they thought a jiffy bag would be enough protection for a metal tin :eek:

Luckily it wasnt too badly dented and I have been able to smooth out most of them, overall not a bad set, has all the same discs as the US set but the packaging is alot smaller with just trays for each season with cardboard slipcases housed in foam.

Guess the most important extra is the booklet which details the story, characters and episodes.

Well worth the £103 I paid :)

The discs are identical to the US discs, complete with FBI warnings and no region coding however I am not sure how well it would survive a journey to Canada as people here in the UK have been recieving their sets from Amazon today and some are dented.

Just opened mine up....I think I should have kept the Deep Discount order! Case is ok, slight dimpled line along the front near the edge opposite the hinge. But the inside is worse! The discs are basically in red plastic holders like the inside of a cd jewel case with clear tape along the the edge so that all the disc holders are attached for a season. Not sure how long they will stay together. The worst thing is the cardboard/paper sleeve/slipcover is so tight it literally took me 5 minutes to push the discs out of it. Season 1 was terrible, the others were slightly more loose. I thought I was going to have to cut along the edge in order to get the discs out of season 1!

About the only thing somewhat decent is the plastic inside the metal container which has the 4 holes cut out to hold each season.

So I have to say cheezy at best.

The best option may be getting the 6 disc Amaray cases from Australia & printed up the posted covers & episode guide. While it takes some time, patience & ink, they came out looking great. As professional looking as if they were done by the studio.

Unfortunate that the UK version's packaging also has issues.

I just received Season 2 of Star Trek TOS. What a difference compared to Paramount's HD-DVD season 1 clamshell plastic monstrosity and Uni's BSG - it's an elegant looking & practical boxed set. No frills, no gimmicks. Just looks great on the rack!

Pulled the trigger on the UK set from Amazon. Good to note that the price I was charged was less than the advertised price. Total came to $167 shipped.

Those of you who have the UK set, how does the guide compare to the excellent work our fellow poster vicmackey187 has made?

The Face Of The Enemy was far too big of an omission, so I made my own custom disc to include in the set.

Um.... no. But it does boast some pretty sweet stereo sound (which may in fact actually be mono just split into 2 channels) :). Better than not having it at all though. I used the highest resolution AVIs I could find and then joined them into a single video.

I thought about changing the DTS logos etc, but decided I'd just leave it matching the rest of the discs (except replacing the large Blu-Ray logo for DivX)

I'm not sure the original source, I found a torrent of them. They are 704x396. I'll try to find the link to the torrent.

The sound for a couple of the webisodes at this resolution was out of sync so this needed to be corrected before joining them.

The merged file is 380MB, so I'm not sure how I can get it too you.

They look bad and are in Non-Anamorphic widescreen. These webisodes,to me, are critical to the series and deserve to be treated in the same respect as the official episodes.

What i meant was all title cards removed and redundent footage removed (for example footage is repeated from the end of episode two and the beginning of episode three). The episodes would play through with no breaks with a few fades that would appear like commercials only. I understand that it was originally in episodes, but it does work when cut together as my glitchy edit confirmed.

Yup. Some of the others were pretty tight, too. Once I got 'em off, they stayed off.

Xbox Live had Face of the Enemy free before Season 4.5 premiered. I have it downloaded on my X360 hard drive. Is there a way to get the Face of the enemy files off the X360 hard drive into a compatible video format?

Don't trust any amazon spec info. They play in a US PS3, extras too. It's everything it should have been in first place...almost the sleeve for season 1 is way too tight. Otherwise it's perfect.:D

Yeah, those cardboard sleeves around the plastic trays are a pain. I too will leave them off once they're off.

Again, Universal has the lousiest boxset designers in the business. And if you look at the booklet it seems as though it was designed not just for the UK version, but probably was intended for the US release too.

I wonder if they didn't just forget to put them in the US sets as a packaging error. I bet if you US set buyers raised enough of a stink they'd mail out those needed episode booklets to you.

Well, I wouldn't say impossible time but I admit they all were very very tight. Best technique would be to strongly push bottom of the jewel case with your thumb holding sides of the sleeve with the other hand. It will slowly slide and then you can withdraw rest of it from the bays around the disc.

Booklet in the UK edition is quite nice. Its size is similar to CD cover sleeves. Characters bios, episode guide and extras guide are included. Moreover, booklet briefly introduces forthcoming The Plan and even the Caprica series. Centerfold image is the famous reproduction of the last supper.

There is almost enough room for The Plan BD (slimmer US case) if you put it on the top of season cases inside the tin :cool:.

UK edition has several (18) certification logos around the box and they are "printed" directly to surface. They are not removable stickers. Back cover product and technical information is also printed on the bottom surface of the tin.

Numbering of season 4 discs is quite funny. First there are discs 1-2 labeled Season 4 and then there are discs 1-3 labeled as The Final Season which of course means the latter half of the Season 4 (or 4.5). Finally there is Razor disc labeled as Disc 1 of Season 4.

Received my UK steel box today. Arrived with the inflatable packing cushions. It has one minor dent in the side which I was able to easily push back out.

Best part is that the box fits easily on my media shelf, and the "top" opens like a door for easy access to the season sets. Great booklet too. Couldn't be happier with this set. After selling off my DVD sets on the bay, my net cost for this set is around $87. :)

I know that everyone is saying that the US and UK sets are identical, but can someone with the UK set please confirm that the season one title music used in the UK set is in fact the US theme?

I don't see why people complain about the US season 1 music. If you like the UK music better, hey great, there's 3 full seasons of it! You just get a different tune for variety for the first 13 or so episodes. It's not like the US season 1 music was bad, it was just different.

I don't like the fact that it's there against the wishes of the creative team. It's not like it makes my ears bleed or anything like that. As a piece of music on its own, I actually like it. It just doesn't belong in this show. It sets a tone which clashes with the visuals and with the themes that the story deals with. Its usage in the first season makes those episodes slightly worse.

I personally disagree totally. I happen to like the music used for the opening in the first season better than that used in later seasons. I think I would have liked the later episodes even more if they had stuck with that opening music. But, hey, to each his own!

I would imagine for full season DVD box set, Blu-ray version would use the same cover. At least Blu-ray Season 1 uses more durable box set like Season 4.5 than HD DVD.

Will be interesting how Season 2 will be released on the Blu-ray, if in single Season 2 box set or two half seasons box sets.

How come only the toasters made to the cover of Maxim and no humans? Do you think there will issues of the Maxim magazine on the baseships in The Plan?

The photographer did a fine job. The airbrushing is what kills it.

A better photographer would of flattened out the their stomachs with softer light so they don't look so malnourished.

The model photos in magazine are never natural. They are always Photoshopped to look better. The girls in real life never look anything like the photos in magazines which is a good thing.

Who knows if Number Six and Eight did modeling for the magazine before Caprica was nuked? Caprica Six always looks like a model when Baltar met her. Sharon was a rookie pilot at the time and she could have done some modeling for the magazine. Caprica lifestyle was very similar to the new Earth thousands of years later. Just trying to put some connections to the BSG universe.

I think there's a spoiler in there somewhere.

While the story is chronologically closest to Season 1, in terms of the narrative you are not supposed to view it until after the season finale. I have not seen The Plan yet, but presumably it would be a mistake to watch it during season 1.

I turned on something called currency converter and the price dropped from 114 to 99. Not sure why. I will be, however, watching my CC like a hawk to ensure I don't suddenly start having extra fees leveled......

Depending on your card, don't be surprised if they charge an extra 1-5% "currency conversion fee". My cards are all 3%, and they seem to pick the highest exchange rate for the week that my charge went through. :mad:

Just finished watching the complete series on Blu and I'm in a funk because this amazing show has come to an end. I've still got The Plan to watch, but it feels like there's a little gap in my soul right about now.

The BD presentation is excellent, with decent sound and some of the cleanest, tightest HD video I've yet seen on disc. The intentionally grainy stuff is also beautiful in its own right. What a set, and what a show.

You can try tuning into "Caprica" in January. It's got a different feel, but seems to be exploring some of the same ideas, at least from what the pilot shows.

Good to see that S1 is coming out individually on Blu-Ray; obviously that means the rest will follow at some point.

I *really* want this entire series, but I just can't justify paying $200 all at once for movies. I'll find deals on the individual sets and span it out over time.

I honestly think The Plan should be either a stand-alone disc, or at least put at the end of Season 4.5. It's like an epilogue. You aren't supposed to view it where it "fits in" chronologically back in Season 2. It's meant to be viewed after the series finale. Razor is the first disc in Season 4.0 because that is where it is supposed to be from a story perspective. The fact that it chronologically happened in Season 2 has no relevance to when you should view it. Placing either film, Razor or The Plan, where they chronologically fit is akin to recutting the first two Godfather films so the order is half of the scenes from Godfather 2, Godfather 1, then the other half of the scenes from Godfather 2.

Well, yeah. I was lamenting the end of this great show, not pining for more. BSG had already started to wear pretty thin and I'm glad they stopped it when they did. When watched in succession, I lost count of the times the presidency changed hands, not to mention Adama having a drunken room-trashing session every other episode. Still, the crack about his model ship ("Do you know how many times I've had to repair this thing?") was a nice little nod from the writers.

I think the problem there was

It was jarring, and took away from the real ending. Hera, pure and without sin, walking through the field should have been the final scene.

They should have cut to the credits.

And then the times square epilogue should have played after the credit roll, if at all.

I understand why it was cut the way it was for TV, but I think it would have made better sense to recut it that way for the disks.

According to Ron D. Moore commentary, last half of season 4 could have been different if wasn't of the writer's strike. He changed some of the story from the last half of the season after they resumed Season 4.5 filming.

I think it was in first or second episode of Season 4.5. The ending for some of the characters were also different if you listen to Ron's commentary for the series finale.

My set arrived last night, from the UK. Not too happy with the way it was packed, or the fact that our postie left it on the (wet) gorund.

The tin was trouble free and seemed no worse for the trip. And my season 1 set is damn tight in the cardboard outer. Still, it'll look damn sweet on the shelf.....

Yes they did everything. I just gave them the pdf files, told them to use illustrated paper and thats it. The image contrast I think it's very nice, didn't notice anything in any page man.

Sorry to bump this up, but I feel the need to thank the BD Galactica community here for bringing this show to my attention. I'm OTA only and literally never heard of it. I thought people were talking about the original (which I hated, sorry) until I figured it out.

Anyhow, I just finished the last episode of season 3 and I have to say it's simply one of the greats. Up there with anything television has done.

Where I live the only two places I can buy blu's locally is the WalMart and there is a music store that also sells some... I guess I'm lucky my husband decided to surprise me with this set, if it has vanished! I don't blame you for not wanting to spend $100 more on it. I *think* my set was somewhere between $239 to $269 at Walmart. Sometimes the prices are a bit higher up here than in the rest of the country b/c we're in the arctic.

IIRC, the complete series set was always going to be a "limited edition". The first season will be released in the US in January as a standalone set and seasons two through four will follow. Though I imagine season four will only be available as separate 4.0 and 4.5 releases since 4.5 is already out on Blu.

I haven't order anything from amazon.com precisely for those reasons. $5 handling per order, $3 shipping per disc, brokerage/duty/GST (used to be GST free), currency premium by the credit card company, and exchange rate. It now usually ends up being more expensive than just buying on-line from Canada.

I never saw the show when it was broadcast and had to wait for the DVD releases to watch it. I had only seen up to the end of the first half of the last season when the Complete series set was released.
The show - till that point- had been such an amazing ride, the thought of buying the entire series was an absolute no brainer.
As soon as I got it, I burned through the final episodes.
The sense of closure was nice, but I have a lot of problems with how this series was wrapped up and that has affected how I view the show in general now. it will be a while before I feel compelled to go back and watch the seasons over again. :(

I think the conclusion is on par with the rest of the series. Aside from one minor gripe, the finale just about knocked me out of my chair.
