My elite had died and will be returned to Costco for a refund but they dont carry elites in store so I am looking to buy one in a B&M store along with an extended warranty that offers a replacement for a broken console. Where is the best place to get one? Thanks.

SO are you going to have to return your HDD also that has all your stuff on it? That's gonna kind of suck. I think right now you'd be better off buying an Arcade or a Pro with the Jasper mobo, I don't think you'll find an Elite that has one right now. I'm sure Costco has them.

I was going to replace the broken Elite's HDD with a retail one but now I see they arent the same colour and it doesnt match the body of the Elite so i dont know if that will be an issue. I will probably just go and buy an elite but I would like to know the best place to do so, since it is inevitable that the replacement console will also die sometime in the future.

Did it red ring? If so, and you purchased it within the past three years, why not just return it to MS for repair?

To answer your question, I got my ESP from FRY'S Electronics. I'm not sure if they are in your area though. They charge $50 for a ONE time no questions asked straight exchange at the store. Once you use that ESP, you cannot rebuy another ESP on that new replacement however. ( I was able to do it once by accident because some rep didn't know better.. so I scored)

I would buy it wherever you can find the best deal and get a warranty from Squaretrade (http://www.squaretrade.com) with one of the recent discount codes. You could save a ton of money that way. Otherwise, the Target warranties are pretty good.

Before the black tie protection came out I would have said Best Buy.
