I just bought a Sony DVD player, DVP-NS601HP, to use with my VIZIO flat screen T.V. and after messing around with the Sony remote for a bit, I was able to figure out how to program it so that it turns on the Vizio T.V. and adjust the volumn. :cool: Follow these steps to program the remote control:


Turn on the television.
On the remote control, press and hold the TV I/O button.
While holding the TV I/O button, enter 04 (this # worked for my VIZIO VO32LFHDTV10A)
Release the I/O button.
Point the remote control at the television.
Press the I/O button to see if turns the T.V. off, if not start over and start with 01... if that does not work, start over and try 02, and so forth until you find the code that works. If a new code number is entered, the code number previously entered will be erased.
Once you find the right one the T.V. on and off will work and the volumn operation will work.

For future reference, just try the Goldstar codes.

Thanks, however, what is frustrating is that neither the Sony manual or their website provide codes or even suggest that the Sony remote control (rmt-d185A) is programmable (no instructions given). :mad: The only thing the manual says is that the remote control may not work with your T.V. (paraphrasing of course).
