Hello,
not sure if anyone can help with this, I bought this projector yesterday with a graywolf 106" 1.8 gain pulldown screen, I bought it mostly because I have never owned a PJ before and I thought it would be fun for myself the wife and kids to watch movies on.

I only have it setup right now on an end table, sitting on top of my bluray player mostly just to see what it would look like on the screen lastnight. I was disappointed by the blacks but at the same time telling myself the bulbs for this PJ would be cheaper to replace if needed.

I kinda figured the blacks wouldn't be too hot anyway as I was trying to keep to as dirt cheap a budget as I could. I tried my best to research this PJ on this forum and on google, few threads, and not enough reviews on the internet about it, only one I did find was from someone who didn't mention the HDMI connection when watching movies on it.

Movies are really all I intend to watch on the PJ, room it will be in is not very large think and I may be undershooting this 18'x16.5' The projector will be shown on the 16.5' wall (mostly for the sake of convenience) The room is pretty bright during the day (will be picking up blackout curtains soon) Night with lights off very dark. I have only tweaked a little with the settings used Sin City really don't know why I seem to use this movie everytime I adjust settings on a television and now the PJ. It looks decent enough.

Ok now for the question after the long post...Is the Graywolf screen 1.8 gain too dark for this pj? should I wait until I have the projector is setup in its permanent position before being concerned with any of this? what settings have other users of this epson ex70 projector used to get good image results? Im not looking for jaw dropping 1080p 120hz action just the best I can get the movies to look the happier ill be.

anyway sorry for the long post and thank you in advance for any help to the questions. I hope I have supplied enough information.

I use a Greywolf with a old projector that has similar CR to yours in our bedroom theatre setup.

Given your circumstances, I would say that the Greywolf is a good choice. It can help improve the blacks of your low CR projector, and help with off axis ambient light rejection in your room for daytime watching.

To get the maximum benefit of the Greywolf's retro-reflective properties, you should keep the projector table mounted as you have now. Alternatively, a coffee table that has a shelf also works well.
