I am thinking of buying an ONKYO TX-SR606 receiver, but I am not sure what speakers to get. Hopefully, you guys can help me out. I am looking for at least 5.1 surround system for $1000 or less (not including the receiver). I've looked through the forums myself a little bit and been thinking of getting Bic Acoustech (two HT-63's, HT-100, two PL-89s, and the PL-28 center) but some people are saying that they are a Klipsch "wanna be's" and not as good of quality. Anyways, any recommendations you guys can make?
P.S. I'd like to mention that I really don't want to sacrifice quality at this kind of budget.

Well are you looking for ID companies? It's going to be hard for anyone to suggest anything since speakers are a personal choice. The best thing to do is audition speakers yourself. If you can't, then get it down to two or so and see if you can purchase them with the option to return them if your not satisfied.

Well, I just want to hear people's opinions on reliability and just what they use in general, also whether they are satisfied with their choice or not. Maybe I'll be able to extrapolate something from that.

Have you looked at SVS, SCS or SBS speakers? Most recommend front SCS with SBS surrounds.

Check out 5.1 satellite systems from Paradigm and Definitive Technology. You will pay a little over a grand but it could be worth it. That's what I would look at first if I I wanted a dedicated HT system for a smaller to mid sized room. Speakers are the most important component IMHO so it's best to spend a little more $ for what sounds good to you. If you decide to buy based on popular choice, you risk a high chance of not being satisifed since we all hear differently. Then again if you are one of those people that are easily satisifed and do not get the "upgrade bug" with things, then that philosophy may just work out for you.:)

I don't have any experience with these speakers. I think they are worth a look. You would need a sub though, so It would bring you over your budget. Great company too. SVS is also a great company.

Does anyone have an opinion on the following setup: Klipsch F-3's, S-2's and a C-2? Possibly paired up with a KSW-12 sub.
