Very strange. I installed a clean install of 8.10 64 bit on a new partition, cause I need more memory for photo editing. I have a Biostar PV7050 motherboard with a LCD via VGA cable and a Sony TV plugged in via HDMI.
Upon first use my dual monitors didn't work, so I went to nvidia-settings and enabled it as a separate x-screen. After rebooting X, it comes on, but, the right side of screen is black. It's as if someone is holding a card over it. Video seems to play "under" the black one-third of so of the TV. Full-screening mplayer results in the video playing, but again, the right third of the screen is black. Very strange. I installed the 177 nvidia driver with the hardware drivers utility. Any ideas?
Edit: I take it back. Now it doesn't seem to be working at all. The image dances all around the screen, goes monochrome, and other very weird behavior. I started the ultra-weirdness by restarting the TV to see if it would help.
