I'm really new to this whole projector thing so I was needing as much help as I can get to choose my first one and actually know that i'm getting what I truelly need.

Research, research, research. Read the forums. Get a budget (decide 720p or 1080p) and look hard at the room configuration, limitations, ambient light, before opting for DLP (usually limited zoom, fixed offset watch for rainbows, usually a little brighter) over LCD (more flexibility with lens shift, some don't care for the picture as much as DLP). Then visit www.projectorreviews.com and compare your final choices. Buy where you can try out and return if PJ is a no go.
