If anyone knows anything off bat please post if not don't waste your time replying because, as we already know, this hobby is not for the miser.
I have a projector that we built three years ago with minimum bulb use. It is a 1024X768 rig. A friend was interested in it and I offered it to him for less then two bills. It is large and makes more noise than your average PJ. What would you recommend for a someone that wants a PJ on the super low low and obviously does not care about HD resolution? I am trying to find a reasonable alternative in the $600 - 750 MSRP range. I know you have to have at least a reasonable amount of money to play how we play. If anyone has a suggestion please post. My suggestion would be save your money and buy something worth owning. But you know; kids these days. At least now I don't have to sell it and have a backyard setup.

Hmm from what I read the other day, there was a pj on B & H photo website that was 2500 contrast, 2500 lumens HD 720p for 750 dollars. I think it was an optoma. That would be a nice one to consider.

Sharp dt-510 (http://www.beachaudio.com/Sharp/Dt510-p-100181.html)

The Previous poster was referring to the Optoma 1691 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/521678-REG/Optoma_Technology_EP1691_EP1691_XGA_Projector.html), which is a good projector if you need something really bright and do not see rainbows on DLP as it only has a 2x color wheel.

This review (http://www.laptopmag.com/review/projectors/optoma-ep1691.aspx)says the Optoma is loud, but it sounds like they had it in dynamic bulb mode and not low bulb mode as the fan speed changes.
