Has anyone got the 120GB hard drive from buy.com? They have them on sale for $121 with free shipping...

My question is, has anyone delt with buy.com? I purchased this HD over the weekend to go in my 360 arcade, but my order status is still "processing" even tho I paid for express shipping. I emailed them today, but haven't heard back yet. Are they ok or shady or what?

i've probably purchased from them 30-40 times in total.

from my experience, a lot of times it'll hit your door before the site reflects anything useful.... shipping is typically fast, so i dont really have any complaints... though there customer service (and order status, obviously) could use some work.

theres a reason www.buysucks.com points to them :P

I ordered an computer from them this past Sept. They took so long to ship it I cancelled the order on line and of course thats when they decided to ship it, so they said to just refuse the shipment. I did and they had it marked as returned about 5 days later. 2 months later they charged me for the computer causing me to have $100 in overdraft fees. They refunded the computer money back almost immediately but it took almost 2 month to get the extra $100 back.

All that to say they have some great deals sometimes....I just ordered some DVDs from them. :)

Was it Buy.Com that had the "Shoot a Gerbil out of a Cannon" ad campaign about 4-5 years ago when ecommerce was really trying to take off? (maybe it was 8-9 years now, I can't remember..as I am old and feeble minded) :D

I have used buy.com several times. Never had any problems. I have always had the item sitting at my door before it has ever finished "processing" on the site. I get all my XBL 12+1 cards at.

IMO, while not quite Amazon, Buy.com is pretty big and popular. You might as well be asking if Amazon.com is reputable.

What I mean is Buy.com is not some fly-by-night company that only a few people use. It's a major online retailer.

I used to shop there a few years ago because they would frequently advertise some nice coupons like $20 off $50 purchases or something similar. They had some excellent deals that way. They stopped doing that though. They are a huge e-tailer and respectable. But you have to pay attention to who you are buying from, they also do 3rd party vendors like amazon. Their layout has changed a bit and it confuses me, it seems harder to actually browse items in a certain category than before.

The last thing I bought was a red xbox controller for $45. Great deal, it wasn't fast, but I didn't use my account, bought it as a "guest" so maybe that made the difference. I wasn't in any rush though, so I didn't care.
