Was wondering what would be the better PJ, I have set up a HC1000 and thought it had a great picture but did not watch it long to see if Rainbows were visible to me. The 1500 would be a lot cheaper then the 200 but I'm just not sure if the added cost is worth it with the issues of the Panny

There aren't that many issues with the Panasonic. Check around. It is still the hottest selling projector.

I have been reading about the 200, and your right it is the hottest selling but none the less a lot of people are having the flicker problem and there is no real fix that I have found. Few say a good cleaning, others send it back for a new bulb, and others say burn at high lamp. Just wish there was a clear winner as to how to avoid the flicker problem. It's the Mit's that I have read no problems but may have RBE on certain people. I'm not sure if I would be sensitive to it.
I have a Panny pta500 now and would love to go the 200 but I do not want the flicker issues!
I know the Panny's do throw a great picture but every model seems to be plagued by some issue!

It isn't that many projectors. There are a few people on this forum but that is by and large the minority. I don't get any money from Panasonic for my recommendation. Every time I consider an upgrade I turn on the projector and say, "Am I nuts???" There are lot of projectors out there. None with a cult following like this one. Do the math. Or get something else.

I just had this same decision to make. The deciding factor was that I didn't have to worry about the 200 making a high pitched noise from the color wheel, like has happed with my 1000. To me, the 200 blows away the 1000, but I'm an amateur.....

darylfoot, thanks for your reply, it's good to hear from someone who has experienced both the Mits and the Panny! I set up a 1000 a few weeks ago and was quite impressed with it but only viewed it for less then an hour so I didn't really have too much time to see the good and the bad. It sure had a nice sharp picture with Blu! I worry about the Panny 200 being to bright for my light controlled room, 14' throw on to my 130" Ultra Pure White painted screen!?
