maybe the HDMI handshake has a very brief hiccup.

dogmanky is correct.....When I reboot my HTCP I get a brief (green color bar) just after windows comes up.....its a hiccup in the HDCP handshake. It never happens after that on my pj, like you are describing random during a movie ect......
What is your HDMI cable length? and cable wire size verse length? and yes make sure all cables and adapters are tight.
HDCP handshake will find the weak link in the system and drive you crazy, on older pj like yours a cable change and a source player change is the first thing to test. Temporally use a shorter cable and then change out the source player with the shorter cable.
If it turns out to be the PJ....not sure if it is cost effective to fix on an old system like the yours.........bench cost can get high.

yeah it just happens randomly and i have it hooked up via DVI with a HDMI adapter on the componet end, The cable is probably 15-20 feet long and dont know what gauge it is it came with the projector, I believe its 22 AWG, i thought it might be a cable problem, one other question i tried hooking up my HDMI switcher yesterday and when i fired it up i got a lot of horizontal lines on the screen its a non powered switch from monoprice i didnt know if this was anything anyone has run into i ordered a switch with equalizer and its powered last night as well as 40 ft of HDMI cable to hook to my HTPC, i hope it works. after disconnecting the switch and hooking the DVD player up directly it worked great other than the random spot on the screen and its never in the same place i can go for an hour or a few minutes without seeing any thing the it will flash one real quick.
Thanks guys!!!
