If it's anything like my GZ-HD6 and it is, it sucks! I hate my camcorder it super compresses everything I record and I can't edit it without a bunch of problems. But if you just want to use it for shooting family videos and no editing, go for it, but i think jvc has better models than that like the gz-hd 10, 30, and 40.
