Hi

I have a Panasonic TH-42PZ70E and in the course of tweaking it to my likeing, I've found two 'secret' menus (mostly through google and luck): The service menu and the hotel mode.
Now there seems to be a pattern:
1) Press and hold the V- button on the sidepannel of the set
2) Press a specific button on the remote 3 times

Out of curiosity I played around with this and so far found 2 ways of entering that annoying 'self-test-delete-all-your-settings' mode. After the second time I stoped, loosing all settings is annoying enough, don't want to find something even worse ;)

But I'm still curious: Are there more hidden featerus accessible through secret key combinations?

Thanks

"Hotel" mode is a fairly crippled operation mode. It is designed to restrict Guest access to most setup and programming menus. It lets you specify a Barker (startup) channel and set a maximum volume limit.

To answer your question, there are no more "hidden" features, you have everything available when it comes out of the box.

The "secret" key combos are for diagnostic, service, and reset purposes (no, you cannot reset the hours of use).

And it lets you specify to which video input the set should switch on startup. Pretty handy if you have a satellite set-top box. No need for the analog tuner then :D .

Don't get me wrong, I do know what hotel mode and service menus are ment for. Basically I don't care what something was designed for, when it suits my needs, bring it on. And for the service menu, I know you can damage your set with it. But if I don't know, what a setting does, I just don't touch it.

I'm just interessted in knowing everything about my set, even if it's of no use to me.

Thanks
