From looking on the web, this seems to be something that isn't a big deal to people, but for what I'm doing it is. I've intergrated a Panasonic AE900 about 2 years back into a screening room that was originally film only (16 and 35mm) I'm really happy with how it looks and how it works with the rest of the booth. I've even come up with a way to even do changeovers from film to video and back so the "show" is seamless and the equipment isn't "noticed". It really has opened me up to limitless possibilities with the room now, from internet, video, gaming, etc.

I was an early adapter of the HD DVD format, which I loved. I bought a Toshiba HD-A2 player about 2 years ago and I really like the player, but when the HD DVD market died, I still kept my collection of discs and us the player as a good upconverter. For Bluray, I bought a PS3. Which is great, upconverts well, plus internet, streaming, etc. But the only thing that bothers me is the damn OSD bugs for play and pause that are projected on screen with the movie. It seems with the PS3 there is no way to shut it off and its the one thing that drives me crazy and the one thing that sticks out on the screen screaming "video is playing".

Anyway, what I'm looking for and it seems to be a tall order is an upcoverting DVD player that you can also play MPEG 4 off of a USB drive preferably something I can build a play list, that has HDMI video, that has the possibility of outputing a video signal simaltaneiously to a standard TV from the composite output for monitoring the image from the booth (like my A2 can do) and be able to SHUT OFF the On Screen Display Bugs. Does anyone have any suggestions? I like the XD-E500, but can't find a manual on the thing that could tell me anything about it, so I don't know if it can shut off OSD. I like the Phillips 5982, but again, no way to shut off the OSD. Thanks for the help.
