I'm sure this topic has been covered quite a few times, but my search skills are not all that.

I currently have the LN46A650 and love it. However it will be way to small for my new house.

I have a budget of $2,500. I need a 58". I've narrowed it down to the 2 tvs above.

I've seen both in action (side by side) at Video Only, they were showing some SD DVD demo disc. Both looked good. Couldn't see any real differences. I changed the Panny to THX mode and the pic looked soft and a little darker. I know that it's more realistic, but to me it looked soft. I'll be tweaking either set using DVE BD.

I'd be watching mostly HD tv and some SD (will use the light bars on the side, no stretching) and BD.

The lighting in the room is controllable (lamps and blinds).

I really like the bezel on the Sammy quite a bit more.

Would either one of these look worse than my LN46A650?

Thanks

I own the 58PZ800 and I love it but honestly, I'd take the 6020FD even if it has a higher price tag.

You can also see this article for a comparison between your 950 and the Z800 as well as the XBR8 and 111FD.

I'd go with the Samsung, it is known to have more accurate colors.

Stretch a little bit for the Pioneer KRP-600M if you can do it. However, the 58PZ800 would be my choice. Once you get it home the attributes will go away. Throw on some Transformers on Blu-ray and you will notice how natural and smooth the pic looks in THX mode.

I just got a PN50A650 and am loving it so far. I moved up from a three year old NEC 42". I would have liked the 58 but my room simply isn't large enough to support that size screen.

Ditto, except I moved from a 7 year old Samsung 27" TV.
