Hi All,
I can't seem to easily find camcorders that have the following specs. If you know of some, could you please recommend them?

Mac compatible
Hard Drive
Also takes MicroSDHC or SDHC cards
Firewire
Under $600.
Good ratings, otherwise, not a piece of junk :)
Oh and HD if possible.

picture quality isn't a factor?

there aren't a lot of hd camcorders with firewire connections, most people just plug the sd card into the computer instead.

Picture quality is a factor :). I guess firewire isn't a requirement for ones that are only sd cards. I've read that videos downloaded from hard drive models using USB are choppy? Is that true?

Choppy depends on your computer, not the videos. Since you have a Mac, the videos will be converted to something easier to edit upon importing in either iMovie or Final Cut, removing any choppiness that may result from you're computer not being top of the line.

Yes, while an unfortunate casualty, firewire is not necessary for HDD/DVD/Flash/SD based cameras because they don't need a sustained data rate in both directions when connected to a computer. SD and DVD based cameras in fact never have to be connected to a computer, so the manufacturers just left it out to keep the prices down.
