Good morning all,
I'm a new member here, and have been researching a problem with my roommates' Samsung HPS4253X/XAA and captioning. I've been searching here and via Google to see what component I can replace to keep the closed captioning working consistently via the cable input.
She is very hard of hearing and relies on the closed captioning. We recently put her TV in my living room and that's when I learned about the captioning issue. It only appears to be flaky on broadcast television, which leads me to believe the decoder (?) needs to be replaced.
Can anyone here tell me for certain which part(s) we should attempt to replace to correct the issue?
She apparently received this Sammy as a replacement to her original Plasma (make indeterminate) from either BB or CC. She discovered the problem early on, but managed to let the warranty lapse without having the issue addressed.
She's now asking me, the IT/electronics geek, to see if it can be fixed.
Thanks much // Ian
