I'm looking to buy a 42" tv for my bedroom. I really wanted to get a Pioneer Elite but they don't make them below 50" anymore. One of my friends suggested that I look around to see if a store may have one sitting around that they never sold. To my understanding, the last 42" elite they made was the Pro 950 HD.

Here is my question: Are there any 42" tv's on the market today that are better than the 950 HD, given that it is almost 2 years old? I have a Pro 940 HD in my house and I absolutley love it(I am not a tv expert though).

Also, if anyone has seen a Pro 950 HD at a store recently please let me know as I would interested in purchasing it. I checked a couple local stores but they don't have any more. I would be willing to have it shipped if the price is right so location is not that big a deal.

If all else fails, I am just going to end up getting the 40" Sony XBR 9 when it comes out this spring.

I'd definitely go with a decent lcd 40" for this scenario. For 1080p it is a bit of a small set. Plasma are 50" and up for the most part.
