MidLife 03-01-09, 10:41 PM http://www.concession-supply.com/Movie-Theater-Popcorn-quotIts-Showtimequot-Tubs_p_488.html I may try a case...........:o jabney 03-11-09, 05:19 PM If you use butter or topping with your popcorn i would use these. http://www.ht-accessories.com/Movie-Theater-Popcorn-Butter-Tubs_p_303.html MidLife 03-11-09, 09:46 PM Is there a difference? (besides the imprint?) I thought a tub was a tub. bigjimmbeazy 03-11-09, 10:14 PM "Movie Theater Popcorn Tubs! Grease resistant! Will handle butter toppings without leaking. Sturdy cardboard Popcorn Tubs for Movie Theaters, Concession Stands and other Fun Food operations! Popular "It's Showtime" Design. Sold by the case. " the first post says for liquid toppings too even grease resistant... I wouldn't be able to tell the difference other than the picture on it... Sdallnct 03-12-09, 10:43 PM I'd keep you eye open for close out's of the reusable plastic tubs. I have used the same one's for a couple years now. I've even put them in the bottom rack of the dishwasher. A couple have just started to fade but still work perfect. I bought clear out's of two different size popcorn tubs and two difference sized drinking cups (the larger of which can be used for a small popcorn tub). Even tho I have large parties for the kids sometime, I still don't have more then 30 or so, tops. And typically it is less then 10. So 20-30 tubs is plenty and last for years. Here is just an example. You can look around the net and ebay. http://www.ht-express.com/catalog/catalog_detail.asp?CID=100&CI=1608&PI=21785 bigjimmbeazy 03-12-09, 11:19 PM i like the feel of the paper/cardboard tubs, but do you have a link for those cups? what do you do about the straws or lids... not that i have little ones but the nieces can ruin a carpet quick... MidLife 03-12-09, 11:29 PM plastic popcorn tubs brings back a lot of hits on google. :) Movie_Buff 03-13-09, 01:13 AM The first one is thick plastic, very good quality. The second & third are cardboard which is a little thin & flimsy.the fourth & fifth ones are thick plastic , the last and biggest is a little flimsybut probably because of the size. I found all of these at different Dollar stores. The cardboard ones came in a pack of 10 for the smaller and 15 for for the bigger. Both packs were $1.00. I made a lamp for my Theater Room out of the first plastic one. I bought the base all assembled at Ikea for around $5.00 than $1.00 for the bucket so compared to buying an item like this at a H/T store it's not a bad and inexpensive project to do.To me it looks pretty good and i got alot of good compliments on it. Sdallnct 03-13-09, 09:51 PM Well I can't show you mine as I'm not at home. And I can't find them on the net cause again, I got close out or old movies so they were cheap. I know I have some Harry Potter one's and something else. I don't worry about lids or staws. Some of my favorite I got "free" from 7-11 for Slurpee's with one of the Star Wars prequels. Here is an example of the smaller size I got. In fact, being that I liked Tranformers, and there is another one coming out, I might have to get some of these. http://www.prettypartyplace.com/designware-23-1559.html I also use these cups as smaller popcorn tubs. Often "the girls" or parents only want a little popcorn and these are perfect. i like the feel of the paper/cardboard tubs, but do you have a link for those cups? what do you do about the straws or lids... not that i have little ones but the nieces can ruin a carpet quick... Loxias 03-13-09, 11:29 PM I picked up a few of these in the Target dollar section the other night... Popcorn Tub (http://www.kitchencollection.com/Temp_Products.cfm?sku=01029498&RankThis=Y&Searched=popcorn&) Pretty solid for the price and the wife and kids thought they were cool. Sdallnct 03-14-09, 04:09 PM I found a pic in the bar build thread. I didn't take this specifically for the tubs, but gives you some idea. As you can see, I have the smaller "Narnia" in the front and some larger ones (I'm prettys sure Harry Potter) in the back. Larger cups are to the left and smaller cups to the left of that. http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/7391/2shelfsincabsmallru5.jpg |
